Two people were injured as the result of an apartment fire that took place on Tuesday night at an apartment complex in Cerritos. One of those suffering injuries was a Cerritos based fireman.
The fire was located at 18943 Vickie Avenue and was reported at 10:36 p.m. and by 11 p.m. the fire was extinguished.
According to a fire department spokesman, one civilian and a firefighter were taken to a local area hospital for treatment of minor injuries, possibly from smoke inhalation.
An unknown number of residents were displaced and the American Red Cross was summoned to help them find temporary housing.
